Lane County Fair Evangelism

I spent a couple hours yesterday afternoon in the Godmobile at the Lane County Fair. This is the second year I’ve done this, and I enjoy it because of the various kinds of interaction I have with different people about spiritual things. I am so encouraged by how younger people in particular are open to God and really want to have non judgmental dialogue. I had great conversations with many people and hope to continue to dialogue with them and eventually help them make the all important decision to follow Christ. In this picture, I was having a conversation with this man who had some pretty far out ideas about God, but I enjoyed talking to him nonetheless.

I believe Fair evangelism is a good thing. Our church in KS has been very involved with our Shawnee KS Fair. We even invite the guys/gals that bring the Fair rides & attractions into town for our Wednesday night meal. They tell us that they really appreciate the hospitality. It's not often that churches are reaching out to those putting the fair together. Our church also has a booth setup where we hand out free bottled water, snow cones, and share the story of Jesus using sandy candy.

Ross, I absolutely love the idea of reaching out to the Fair workers! Being on the road and away from family is tough, but it sounds like you guys are doing an amazing work!
