Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth

Can a Muslim write a book about the historical Jesus?  Of course, but it should come as no surprise that as a practicing Muslim his conclusion would be that Jesus did not rise from the dead, for no Muslim would dare make that profession let alone believe it lest they be excommunicated from Islam with a bounty on their head.  The hype surrounding Reza Aslan’s recent book release entitled “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth” is just hype.  There is simply too much evidence pointing to a literal, bodily, and historical resurrection of Jesus from the dead.  Any book on Jesus that refuses to acknowledge the historical claims of the resurrection is suspect.  Plus I find it kind of interesting and a bit pretentious that the artistic portrait of Jesus on the book cover comes awfully close to resembling the author.  There are simply too many other great books about the historical Jesus to read that will better inform you, starting with the four Gospels of the New Testament - Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
