A Holy People
This week Renee and I begin our 9th year of pastoral ministry at Springfield Church. When we moved out here Caleb was just a 9 month old baby and Micah wasn’t even born yet. I am now the 2nd longest serving pastor in the 61 year history of the church (John Harris’ father Furman Harris served for 10 years from 1953 – 1963). When we moved here from my home state of Colorado we knew absolutely nothing about the church, only that God called us here. Looking back at the last eight years is interesting and I might even write a book about it. I can say that I am so very proud of my congregation that has faithfully endured some tumultuous times with steadfastness reflective of I Corinthians 15:58. As a church, we are healthier, more dynamic, and both excited and humbled by the great things that God is doing through us! If somehow you’ve stumbled across this blog post and you live in the Springfield/Eugene area and you do not have a church that you are a part of, you’ll find our worship services to be uplifting. You’ll hear teaching that is grounded in the Bible. You’ll meet some of the nicest people around who are striving to live a holy life reflective of the life that Jesus lived! But most importantly, you’ll encounter God’s Holy Spirit that gives us the power to be a holy people!
By the way, don't miss a special interview I have with Dan and Bonnie Williams which airs on KORE 1050 am radio on Saturday, April 24th at 9:30 am and 5:00 pm.

God bless you in your ninth year at Springfield First. God has great things in store for this wonderful people.
Thank you, Pastor, for a great 8 years under your leadership and giudance. We have watched with joy as this church has grown from being self centered to becoming Christ centered. You and your family have been a blessing to our church body and to all of those who are benefitting from the ministries grown from that body. We praise God for what is happening at Springfield Nazarene!
